Las Vegas Attorney Aaron Lovaas Appointed to Significant ABA Committee Chairmanship

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) July 20, 2007 -- The American Bar Association comprises the largest association of attorneys in the world and is organized in a system of substantive Sections, Divisions and underlying Committees. At the American Bar Association's 2007 Annual Meeting in San Francisco in August, attorney Aaron Lovaas, a principal in the Las Vegas law firm of Shimon & Lovaas, A Professional Corporation, will be named Chair of the Solo and Small Firm Committee of the ABA's Section of Business Law's Young Lawyer Forum. The Committee's primary goals are to address, through programming and peer support, the needs of the solo practitioner and small law firm, from a young lawyer's perspective, within the business law community and Business Law Section of the ABA. While Lovaas' work in the Young Lawyer Forum is a function of the Forum's age criteria (under 40), Lovaas has been practicing law in Nevada for over a decade. He concentrates his practice in the area of business-related litigation.

In addition to assuming the position as Chair of the Committee, Lovaas will also moderate a panel discussion at the Annual Meeting focused on client development within the solo and small firm environment. An audience of nearly 100 lawyers from around the nation is anticipated for that panel discussion. Lovaas has the distinction of being the moderator for the first such program ever sponsored and facilitated by the Young Lawyer Forum at an Annual Meeting of the ABA.

"Obviously, I am honored and excited about assuming the chairmanship of this committee," remarks Lovaas, "but I am equally excited to play such a significant role in the programming available for so many lawyers attending the ABA Annual Meeting. This presents the opportunity not only to share valuable educational material with those who attend the program, but also incidentally the law firm of Shimon & Lovaas as well as the fine quality of lawyers found throughout the Las Vegas area."

Through his work as the Chair of the Committee over the next year, Lovaas will interact with all manner of lawyers throughout the country, and internationally, on all manner of topics relevant to business law and the solo and small firm practitioner.
